Photo resizing in PowerPoint

Me- Wider than I really am

Sometimes we see pictures that just don’t look right on a poster. What often happens is that they are resized disproportionately.

When you stretch or squeeze your photo, keep your eye on it. If you don’t have the aspect ratio locked, it can go weird. I’m really a lot thinner than this photo would have you believe!

The quick fix is to hold down the shift key while resizing. This will force porportionality. Sometimes pictures will come in with the “lock aspect ratio” box unchecked, usually because you are copy and pasting from a document where the aspect ratio is unlocked. You can find the check box in Format Picture>Size.
