We get so used to the beautiful single piece posters that we print all day that we forget what people used to do. So when I saw this poster at a postersession recently, I had to take a picture of it to remind me of how far we’ve come in the last 10 years.
Do you remember when a poster was page size chunks of text, an odd photo, and had hand drawn charts and graphs? It wasn’t that long ago.
Can anyone argue that we aren’t doing a better job these days? I would think that it took this student hours to produce all those pieces, and almost as long to get them all arranged on the board. Worst still, it looks like, well, like a kid did it.
Budgets rear their ugly head, of course. It just seems hard to argue that it wouldn’t have been worth $75 to make this presentation more professional. And, the more you value your time, the easier that decision is to make.
